    Hi,

    Thank you for the reply.

    The complete part number is MTCDP-H4-GP-P2-DK-1.0. Since it has P2, it will work only with At&T carrier? Is there any other way I can make this to work with other carriers?or I have to order a P1 model?

    Also, can i atleast make it work in 2G(GPRS) mode?

    Hi Moderators & Admins,

    Could you please confirm whether my question is under the right forum? Is there any other support options(email) available from Multitech? Because i am currently evaluating whether the MTSMC-H4-U modem supports the frequency band that we expect.

    From the AT command manual it says

    <bandsetInd> (Band index value—When configured for ‘all regions’, all of the bands
    supported by the modem will appear):
    00 = All bands
    01 = WCDMA 2100
    02 = WCDMA 850/1900
    03 = GSM 900/1800
    04 = GSM 850/1900
    05 = GSM ALL
    06 = WCDMA 2100 GSM 900/1800
    07 = WCDMA 850/1900 GSM 850/1900
    08 = WCDMA ALL
    09 = WCDMA 850/2100
    0A = WCDMA 800/2100
    0B = WCDMA 850/2100 GSM 900/1800
    0C = WCDMA 850 GSM 900/1800
    0D = WCDMA 850
    0E = WCDMA 900
    0F = WCDMA 900/2100

    But in the device i get limited bands as below:

    at!band=?
    Index, Name
    00, All bands
    01, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    02, WCDMA 850/1900
    03, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    04, GSM 850/1900
    05, GSM ALL
    06, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    07, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    08, WCDMA ALL
    09, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    0A, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    0B, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    0C, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    0D, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    0E, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    0F, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    10, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
    11, N/A (Defaults to ALL)

    OK

    Is there any way i can make the modem to use the WCDMA 2100 band?

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Ok. Finally, I figured out why the result of AT+CSQ is important(my case was 99,99 meaning no signal). I changed the modem band from 4 to 5(1800Mhz) using AT+WMBS followed by AT+WRST to reset the modem. Now i am able to connect to my network provider and my ping was successful.

    So i ended up creating a duplicate post which was same as http://www.multitech.net/developer/forums/topic.php?id=312.

    Sorry guys:)
