ParticipantI finally captured a “Live Log” item where the “@” symbol is being replaced with a hyphen.
“Live Log” shows:
Feb 17 14:08:39 modem: livelog: [RECV] : +CMT: “1214xxxxxxx”,,”15/02/17,14:08:41-24″,129,4,0,0,”+1xxxxxxxxxx”,145,18

Tcout“Received Log” shows:
Feb 17 14:08:39 modem: recvlog: [RECV FROM] : 12145555555 : [MSG] : Pw-10106000 Tc-outKirk Bennett
ParticipantPDU is not checked, I don’t even know what that is.
I’ll have to wait until it happens again because everything in the current live log is correct.
I altered my software to accept dashes also. So I’m fine for now.
I was thinking it was something a smartphone was doing but it happened from a guy that has a Motorola flip phone. What happens if someone sends a MMS to the iSms? I’ve never looked and I don’t want to try it and mess something up.
I’ll post if anything changes or I figure out why.Kirk Bennett
ParticipantI looked back to what day this problem seemed to start and it was Jan 14, 2015. What’s strange is this was Microsoft’s update day. I don’t see how Microsoft update could cause this problem, unless the carriers servers are MS and something in the update is causing this. That may be why it only occurs sometimes and usually after 1 happens then I get a spurt of more then none for a awhile. Is there anyway to look back to certain dates in the iSms log? I did restart iSms about 10 days ago. Not sure if logs are lost on restart.

ParticipantI wasted everyone’s time on this issue. I have an older T-Mobile prepaid $1 per day Sim I use for development. Well, comes to find out that T-Mobile inactivates the account each day until the device sends a text or makes a call. Then the Sim is active for that day. I never dreamed there would be such a setting.

ParticipantDan, I’m not an expert but you have to go in to each Modem and set the SIM Number(phone number). Looks like the SIM number may not be set on your second modem.

ParticipantMaybe if was Jeff Kline. I new the Jeff part was right. I’m not having any problems. It’s working great during my testing. I just want to make sure I didn’t have to take action when it sends me the log. Is the apimsgid generation tied to the device or to the port? If I send sms out port 1 and it gets apimsgid = 1, then I send sms out port 2 (both in the same device) will it get apimsgid = 2 ? Also do I have to specify a port number when I perform a querymsg?

ParticipantGot an 8-port and I did go in and disable all but the first one, just like you originally told me when I bought it. The log comes once a week. I didn’t know it that would prevent the modem from working if the log filled up. Numbers less than ten make sense…I forgot about Short Codes. My app checks length anyway. What about the apimsgid the modem assigns, does this ever start over? What if I have two devices? Will I need to track per device then ID?
