Redundant Conduit gateways with overlapping LoRa Coverage

I have multiple Conduits with overlapping LoRa coverage. i would like it to be so that if one gateway goes down the others will continue to provide the web connection for the mDots. I have all conduits using the same network name and password. Question: Do all gateways see the same message (doesnt seem to be the case) or does a mDot only link to one gateway and should test the connection and try and rejoin to another gateway if the connection goes down? right now i have to reset the mdot to join the new gateway i would like this to happen automatically. Thoughts or input?

Does this have anything to do with the Private or Public setting?
