ParticipantHi,
I have problem connecting MTSMC-H4-U modem to 3G network. So, i tried some of the AT commands from http://www.multitech.net/developer/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/S000483A.pdf.
I suspect two things, one is the 3g frequency used by the modem and other is the AT+CPIN? returns PH-NET PIN instead of READY (which i got in MTSMC-G2)
Below is the result for the AT commands i tried using microcom:
microcom /dev/ttyUSB3

OKI want to change the frequency to WCDMA 2100 as per the AT command manual and would like to know why i am receiving this PH-NET PIN instead of READY for AT+CPIN?
Any help would be much appreciated.
PS: I previously managed to make the same SIM card work with MTSMC-G2 modem by using dual band 900/1800MHz.One of the sources i refer for frequency is here:

ParticipantHi Moderators & Admins,
Could you please confirm whether my question is under the right forum? Is there any other support options(email) available from Multitech? Because i am currently evaluating whether the MTSMC-H4-U modem supports the frequency band that we expect.
From the AT command manual it says
<bandsetInd> (Band index value—When configured for ‘all regions’, all of the bands
supported by the modem will appear):
00 = All bands
01 = WCDMA 2100
02 = WCDMA 850/1900
03 = GSM 900/1800
04 = GSM 850/1900
05 = GSM ALL
06 = WCDMA 2100 GSM 900/1800
07 = WCDMA 850/1900 GSM 850/1900
08 = WCDMA ALL
09 = WCDMA 850/2100
0A = WCDMA 800/2100
0B = WCDMA 850/2100 GSM 900/1800
0C = WCDMA 850 GSM 900/1800
0D = WCDMA 850
0E = WCDMA 900
0F = WCDMA 900/2100But in the device i get limited bands as below:
at!band=?
Index, Name
00, All bands
01, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
02, WCDMA 850/1900
03, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
04, GSM 850/1900
05, GSM ALL
06, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
07, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
08, WCDMA ALL
09, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
0A, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
0B, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
0C, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
0D, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
0E, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
0F, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
10, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
11, N/A (Defaults to ALL)
OKIs there any way i can make the modem to use the WCDMA 2100 band?
Any help would be much appreciated.

BlockedCheck the complete part number on the serial number label. The -H4 series devices will have either a -P1 or -P2 suffix in the part number. The -P2 models are locked to AT&T and will return the +CPIN: PH-NET PIN response if an AT&T SIM is not inserted. If you are using a carrier other than AT&T you need to order a -P1 model.

ParticipantHi,
Thank you for the reply.
The complete part number is MTCDP-H4-GP-P2-DK-1.0. Since it has P2, it will work only with At&T carrier? Is there any other way I can make this to work with other carriers?or I have to order a P1 model?
Also, can i atleast make it work in 2G(GPRS) mode?

KeymasterThe P2 model is for AT&T networks. The P1 model is generic for any network including AT&T. However, if you deploy the unlocked model (P1) in the USA for use on AT&T’s network, then if there are network issues you may not get help from AT&T in resolving the problem. They approved the P2 model and expect AT&T customers to use that model.
