Lora packets sent to gateway have empty payload

Whenever one of our xDot devices sends Lora packets to our AEP Gateway the first several packets have correct payloads, but then the packets stop having a payload entirely.
It appears that if I reset the Lora connection, then the first several packets have correct payloads again, but then the packet payloads become undefined again.
Has anyone else had this problem?
