    Hello,

I am wondering if there has been any update to my post from a few weeks ago (original message below). This is something I hope you get resolved soon.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks.

    Bob

In standard ascii format, the single quote (‘) character get converted to an empty space when sending SMS messages from the iSMS server.

Does any one know why the single quote (‘) or %27 gets converted to an empty space?

    Thanks.

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

We’re hoping to have a fix for this a few weeks. We’re still in the process of testing at the moment.

    Regards,

    Bryon

    Byron,

Okay. We are anxiously waiting the fix!!

Our users send hundreds of messages every day. It looks bad, on our part, when we send replies with the omission of single quotes.

    Please keep me posted.

    Thanks,

    Bob Gismondi

    Hi Bob,

We are getting closer to a fix for this. In our testing, many of the special character problems are from not using ISO-8859-1 character set when sending API requests or receiving messages from the Receive API. The current releases only support ISO-8859-1 character set and many programs automatically send UTF-8, which is similar but the special characters are handled different. We are also working on adding UTF-8 support for the API interface.

    Regards,

    Bryon

    Byron,

3 weeks ago, you posted that “within a few weeks” there should be a fix for the iSMS single quote (‘) conversion bug. You were in the testing phase at that moment.

Has a release date been set?

I know I’m getting to be a pest about this, but our end-users are sreaming about blank characters coming across in their text messages.

I am still convinced that the iSMS is one of the best modems. I am really getting alot of pressure about seeking a different modem brand.

Please, please, please keep me posted on this issue.

    Thanks.

    Bob Gismondi
