Re: SIM not inserted / SIM information

I am having issues with my SIM-card. It does not seem to register that I’ve inserted one.

I did:

microcom /dev/ttyUSB3

AT+CPIN?

and I keep getting: +CME ERROR: SIM not inserted.

First I thought I’d just inserted the SIM-card the wrong way, but I checked and the way I’ve done it is really the only way that makes sense, so that can’t be it. I also restarted the modem and tried the AT+CPIN? again with the same results. Do I need to do something special to activate this functionality on the modem?

Also, why are there only two interfaces listed when I do ifconfig (lo and eth0)? Shouldn’t there be one for 3G also?
