Multi-Tech has some upcoming webinars planned for anyone wishing for an overview of the Open Communications Gateway family of products. This includes the existing MultiConnect OCG-D device product and the new MultiConnect OCG-E embedded version which will start shipping in late November.
To sign up, visit the Multi-Tech Developer Webinars page.
Two major announcements today!
-
Multi-Tech has announced new branding for the Cellular Development Platform:
MultiConnect Open Communications Gateways (OCG)
The existing Cellular Development Platform products are now known as
MultiConnect Open Communications Gateway – Device or MultiConnect OCG-D
For more information, see the product information page on multitech.com.
-
MultiConnect Open Communications Gateway – Embedded
Along with the new product family name, Multi-Tech introduces MultiConnect OCG-E, an embedded version of the Open Communications Gateway for those wanting to embed the hardware into their own design. This allows the developer to leverage the existing OCG technology and CoreCDP software but gives them full control over the end design of their product, such as a custom footprint and chassis and the ability to use only the interfaces (ethernet, serial, I2C, etc) that are needed.
For more information, see the product information page on multitech.com.
CoreCDP is built using OpenEmbeded and for those new to it, here is a good overview article in EE Times that explains the basics.
Open Embedded: An alternative way to build embedded Linux distributions
To all CDP developers:
We have discovered that the serial 3-pin debug cable included with the CDP was manufactured incorrectly for units made prior to 7/4/2011.
We will be glad to ship you a new cable upon request.
You can make the request through our support portal.
Please include the serial number of the unit and your name and address to where you would like it shipped.
If you want to do the modification to the cable yourself, see the cable diagram for proper connections.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
