Hi all,
I think there is an issue with the openvpn client version.
I’m connecting my Conduit (MTCDTIP-H5-220L-868-OP) as a VPN Client; the connection works, but every hour it disconnect from the server:
Tue Feb 6 09:10:03 2018 TLS: soft reset sec=0 bytes=770305/0 pkts=3400/0
Tue Feb 6 09:10:03 2018 ERROR: could not read Auth username from stdin
Tue Feb 6 09:10:03 2018 Exiting
reading this post it seems an openvpn bug resolved with last update of the package.
Can you verify this issue?
Thankyou
Hi, nobody can confirm the presence of this OpenVPN bug?
Nicola,
Can you confirm when this bug was supposed to be fixed in OpenVPN? I have not found any place where this bug may have been fixed, and I have not seen it on the Conduit myself (not saying there isn’t a bug in the version of OpenVPN on the Conduit). I don’t know what revision of OpenVPN may have fixed this. Since I have not been able to reproduce the issue, and I have no idea when it may have been fixed in OpenVPN, I cannot answer your question.
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
thanks for your response.
I may be wrong, but reading this post I have understood that a user with the same problem (on Centos 7) resolved it upgrading openVPN to 2.3.11 version.
On my Conduit I have the version
root@mtcdt:~# openvpn --version
OpenVPN 2.1.3 arm-mlinux-linux-gnueabi [SSL] [LZO2] [EPOLL] built on May 6 2016
Nicola,
We are planning on upgrading OpenVPN to at least 2.3.12 in an upcoming release. I can’t say which one, but it will be a 1.5.x release of AEP Conduit, and a mLinux 4.x release. Sorry I can’t be more specific at this time.
